PS welcomes applied papers that deal with real-world issues or solve problems commonly occurring in applied/practical settings. Hogan Assessments (HAS) sponsors an annual award for the best paper in the “Applied” category. The recipient receives 1,000 EUR. The award is issued in the following way:

1. HAS solicits the editorial staff of the journal for nominations
2. HAS chooses in consultation with the editor-in-chief of PS the winner of the award among those nominated
3. HAS presents the award to the winner at a large public gathering, such as the ECP
